The site check is a free tool. This page says what it collects when you use it, how long it keeps it, and how to have it removed.
Who we are
The site check is run by Adversity Enterprises, doing business as BookingBench, 226 N Main Street, Sheridan WY 82801. In this page "we" and "BookingBench" mean Adversity Enterprises. You can reach us at support@bookingbench.com. This page covers the site check only. Our general privacy policy covers our booking platform.
When you check a website
You type a website address. Our scanner reads the public pages of that site, the same pages any visitor could open, and works out a score and a list of findings. We keep the result, which is scores and findings with short quotes (up to 80 characters) of public text from the site, for 30 days and then delete it. We do not keep copies of the pages themselves.
The scanner also downloads a few of the site's own script files and reads them as plain text, never running them, to look for possible security problems, such as a secret key or an out-of-date library. We keep what kind of problem was found and in which file, never the secret, the card number, the coordinates or any other value from the code. The check page shows only how many were found. The details are shown only if you open the report link in our email, and that email went to an address at the scanned site's own domain; BookingBench staff and our automated tools can also see them. They are deleted with the rest of the result after 30 days.
We do not ask you to sign in, and you do not need to tell us who you are to see the first part of your results.
Your network address
Our records of a check do not contain your IP address. To limit abuse we store a one-way scrambled version of it (a keyed hash, with IPv6 addresses grouped by network), which cannot be turned back into your address. It is deleted with your check after 30 days. If you later ask for a full report by email, a copy is stored with that request.
If you ask for the full report by email
You can enter an email address to unlock the full report. We then store:
- your email address and the time you gave it;
- whether you asked for occasional updates, and which version of our wording you agreed to;
- the scrambled network address described above, and the score of your first check.
We send one message to that address with your report link and a confirmation link. Nothing else is sent unless you open the confirmation link, press Confirm and tick the box asking for updates. Typing an address into a form is never treated as agreement to receive updates.
An address that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days. A confirmed address is kept until you unsubscribe. Every email has an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, or if mail to you bounces or is reported as unwanted, we keep a one-way scrambled version of the address so that we never email it again.
The human check
Before a check runs we ask your browser to pass a Cloudflare Turnstile test, which tells people from automated programs. The test loads as soon as you open the check page, before you press anything. Cloudflare receives information about your browser to do this and may store a small amount of data in it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Who else handles your data
The site check runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States, which also sends our email. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Your choices
- To stop email, use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- To have your address and the record of your check deleted, email support@bookingbench.com from the address concerned.
- If you run a website and do not want it scanned, see About this tool.
Security
Report links are long random codes that cannot be guessed, and we store only a scrambled form of them. Access to the stored data is limited to the service and to a small number of administrators who sign in with a separate login.
Children
The site check is for people who run businesses. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If we change this page the date above changes. Questions are welcome at support@bookingbench.com.
